Effects of Wear and Selections of Elbows in LDPE Dilute Phase Conveying Systems on Product Qualities
The low density polyethylene(LDPE)pneumatic conveying system often adopts dilute phase conveying, and the materials move in a suspended manner in the conveying pipelines. This conveying method has the characteristics of easy maintenance, wide applicability, high economy, and fast flow rate.Because of the fast conveying speeds, the material frictions on longer conveying pipelines could easily lead to the material losses and the wear of conveying equipment. On the one hand,high-speed particles during transportation rub and collide with pipe walls and elbows, producing fine powders and silk pellets. On the other hand,high-speed particles continuously collide and rub against the conveying pipelines, leading to the wear and shortened service life of conveying pipelines. Therefore, this article adopted a comparative analysis method through the engineering practices to explore the wear mechanisms of dilute phase conveying of polyethylene particles and the selections of conveying elbows. The effects of conveying elbow selections on the quality of LDPE particle products were summarized and analyzed, providing theoretical supports for the elbow selections in the similar dilute phase conveying systems.
