Preparation and Properties of Poly(aniline-fluoroaniline)Copolymer/Epoxy Resin Anticorrosive Coatings
Epoxy resin coating has been widely used in the metal corrosion protection, but its single corrosion resistance cannot meet the application needs, adding high-performance anticorrosive filler to the epoxy resin matrix to prepare composite coating is an effective way to improve the corrosion resistance. In this paper,poly(aniline-fluoroaniline)(PANI-FAN)was synthesized by the microemulsion polymerization, and it was added as an anticorrosive filler to improve the corrosion resistance of epoxy resin. The structures and morphologies of PANI-FAN were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The effects of PANI-FAN content on the corrosion resistance of epoxy resin were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and salt spray test. The results show that the nano-sized PANI-FAN copolymer is successfully synthesized. The synthesized copolymer has a good hydrophobicity, and its water contact angle reaches 148.7°,which is close to the superhydrophobic state. After immersion in a 3.5%mass fraction NaCl solution for 60 d,the impedance value of PANI-FAN/EP composite coating at low frequency(|Z|0.01Hz)still reaches109 Ω/cm2 with the loading of a3%mass fraction PANI-FAN filler, which is nearly three orders of magnitude higher than that of the original epoxy coating.
