Preparation and Properties of Bacteriostatic Compound Hydrogels based on Toona Sinensis
The aim of this study is to accurately quantify the antibacterial activity of Toona sinensis active substances.Based on the antibacterial substance extracted,a kind of supramolecular organic Toona sinensis hydrogel(AGE-Toona)with a semi-interpenetrating structure, high mechanical properties and multi-functionality was developed through the micellar radical polymerization strategy. The relevant properties and antibacterial activity of the gel were determined. The macroporous resins needed for purification were screened and the bacteriostatic properties of the Toona sinensis active substances were determined by filter paper method. The Toona sinensis bioactive substances were combined with acrylamide, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, lauryl methacrylate and gelatin to form the target products.Partial characteristics such as mechanical properties, swelling properties and antibacterial properties were measured to evaluate whether the products have good applications. The results show that AB-8 macroporous resin has better purification effect, and the purified components have an excellent antibacterial effect on pathogenic Escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus, and the corresponding antibacterial zone diameters are respectively 11.51 and 11.25 mm.At the same time, the synthetic organogel shows excellent comprehensive properties. It has good strength(a tensile strength of about 0.4 MPa,a compression strength of about 4.1 MPa),super stretchability(about 1 324%),high swelling degree(823.3%)and good bacteriostasis(especially for staphylococcus aureus).Taking these advantages,AGE-Toona hydrogel might find suitable applications in the medical antibacterial dressings.
