Sensitivity analysis of temperature control measures for arch dam concrete in the Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Hub
Concrete dams are influenced by various factors during construction, such as ambient temperature, concrete mix proportions, pouring speed, and heat dissipation conditions, all of which can generate thermal stress within the concrete and potentially lead to cracking. To ensure the quality and safety of concrete dams,a series of measures must be implemented to control temperature and prevent cracking. The Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Hub arch dam is a 230-meter-high double-curvature arch dam with complex structural stress conditions, making temperature control and crack prevention particularly critical during construction. This paper integrates domestic and international research on temperature control and crack prevention for concrete arch dams, along with practical engineering experience.Using a three-dimensional finite element method, the study simulates and analyzes the temperature field of the large-volume concrete in the Dongzhuang arch dam.Through sensitivity analysis of temperature control parameters for a single dam segment, feasible complementary temperature control measures are recommended to ensure high crack resistance and safety of the dam concrete.
