Spatial Analysis of Soil Erosion Risk in Hainan Island by Applying RUSLE Model and Multi-Source Data
In order to comprehensively assess the soil erosion risk of Hainan Island, remote sensing and GIS technologies were used to integrate multi-source heterogeneous spatial datasets, combined with the RUSLE model to evaluate its soil erosion intensity level and loss characteristics. The results show that the soil erosion modulus of Hainan Island is 3.16t/hm2·a,the whole is of slight grade, and the total soil erosion amount reaches 4.66×106t/a;the area occupied by each risk grade is in the following order:Mild(91.47%)>Moderate(6.06%)>Vigorous(1.52%)>Intense(0.72%)>Very intense(0.23%),and accordingly, the percentage of loss generated is in the order of Vigorous(2.08%)<Very Intense(4.54%)<Intense(5.53%)<Moderate(12.60%)<Mild(75.24%).The soil erosion risk on Hainan Island is distributed in a fragmented manner, and the high erosion modulus is mainly distributed in the hilly and mountainous areas in the 25~60km zone around the island.
