Runoff Simulation of Built-up Area Based on Nighttime Light Improved SWAT Model
Driven by extreme climate change and urbanization development, the expansion of built-up areas has directly caused an increase in surface runoff.Runoff simulation in built-up areas can help monitor changes in water flow.Taking the Xinjiang river basin as a case study, nighttime light images were used to extract urban built-up areas and improve land use data, and the required driving data sets of the SWAT model were collected and preprocessed. The improved data are input into the SWAT model and the runoff simulation is carried out.The experiment shows that the R2 of the runoff simulation of the improved SWAT model is 0.86 and 0.84 respectively in the verification period of the two hydrological stations, and the NSE is 0.83 and 0.76 respectively. The results show that the application of the improved SWAT model in the built-up area of the Xinjiang river basin is feasible and effective.
