Analysis of One-Way Fluid-Structure Coupling of Crescent-Rib Steel Bifurcation Pipe Based on CFD
Penstocks have been widely used in many water conservancy and hydropower projects.Bifurcation pipes,as the most complex structure in penstock, have always been the focus of the design research. In recent years,crescent-rib bifurcation pipes have been widely used in large-diameter steel bifurcations due to their favorable stress conditions, saving engineering quantity, superior hydraulic condition and numerous advantages. In this paper, the CFD method is applied to conduct a one-way fluid-structure coupling analysis of the structure of penstock in a foreign hydropower station.Firstly, based on the fluid calculation results, the hydrodynamic pressure acting on the bifurcation pipe and crescent ribs under dynamic water pressure is analyzed.Subsequently, these results are used as initial conditions for stress analysis. Finally,it is concluded that under the operating state of the steel bifurcation pipe, the pressure exerted solely by dynamic water pressure on the steel bifurcation pipe is 1% of the static water pressure, and the stress does not exceed 4% of the allowable stress.
