Underwater Detection Method and Engineering Application for Stilling Basin Apron and Riprap of a Water Conservancy Project
With the long-term operation of the water conservancy project, the apparent wear on the dam body, energy dissipation facilities, tunnels, revetments will become increasingly severe.Especially for energy dissipation facilities such as the apron and riprap of stilling basin, problems like scouring, erosion, and sedimentation often occur. If no periodic inspections are conducted and corresponding maintenance measures are taken, serious issues may affect the safe operation of water conservancy projects. This paper takes the apron and riprap of stilling basin as the research object, and adopts an integrated detection approach of"preliminary exploration-detailed investigation-problem identification-comprehensive description"to investigate concrete defects and sedimentation on the surface of the apron and riprap. In the specific implementation process, the advantages of acoustic detection technology("low accuracy but accurate positioning")and the underwater imaging detection technology("high accuracy but poor positioning")are fully utilized, and effectively combining the two methods for underwater detection of the apron.Practice has proven that this this technical approach and methods have achieved good application effect in underwater detection of apron and riprap, and it is worth promoting in practice.
