Evaluation of Sediment Erosion on Turbines and Comprehensive Anti-Erosion Measures for High-Head Hydropower Station
For a high-head hydropower station with a head of 300m,the impact of sediment erosion is an issue that cannot be ignored in the design and parameter selection of turbines.Taking the Kohala hydropower station as an example, this paper conducts experiments and evaluations on the sediment erosion of turbines based on the sediment characteristics of the power station.Specific comprehensive measures against sediment erosion are proposed from the aspects such as turbine parameter selection, hydraulic design, structure and technology, material selection, surface protection, and scheduling operation. The research content of this paper can provide reference for the design of anti-erosion scheme for turbines in other high-head hydropower stations.
