Research on Water Flow Conditions of Sluice Based on FLOW-3D Numeri-cal Simulation and Physical Model Tests
This paper introduces the application of FLOW-3D numerical simulation and physical model tests in studying the water flow conditions of the Longtang Dam in Haikou City.By numerical simulations and physical model tests for each operating conditions,the hydraulic characteristics of the sluice,including flow patterns,velocities,and water surface profiles,are calculated and observed.The comparative analysis reveals that the flow patterns,water surface profiles,velocity variations,and distribution laws obtained from both FLOW-3D numerical simulation and physical model tests are basically consistent under various operating conditions.This provides a scientific basis for studying the feasibility and rationality of layout and shape design for water release structures,as well as for their design and operational management.
