Numerical simulation analysis of asymmetric diversion flow characteristics in flow channel of a seawater pump station
In order to discuss the characteristics of asymmetric inlet flow in a seawater pumping station,a numerical model of inlet flow passage in a liquefied natural gas receiving station was established using OpenFOAM.Based on the measured data,the distribution characteristics of flow velocity and turbulent energy in the inlet flow channel were simulated and analyzed.The simulation results show that when the seawater pumping station is asymmetric,the flow velocity entering the forebay is high,and the flow cannot be fully diffused at a low water level.The flow is biased at the entrance of the flow channel,and is basically uniform in front of the seawater pump.In the asymmetric water diversion condition,the average uniformity index of each section is higher than that of the symmetrical condition,and the average turbulent energy of each water pump is also lower than that of the symmetrical condition.From the perspective of flow velocity uniformity and turbulence magnitude,the asymmetric water diversion is more beneficial to the operation of the pump.
