Practices and reflections on digital twin water conservancy construction
Promoting digital twin water conservancy construction is one of the six implementation pathways for high-quality development in water resources and serves as an important indicator of new productive forces in water management. From 2022 to 2023,the Ministry of Water Resources launched pilot constructions for the construction of digital twin river basins, completing 94 tasks across 56 organizations. This marks the transition of digital twin water conservancy from an exploratory pilot construction phase to a stage of comprehensive and normalized promotion, alongside strengthened and deepened applications.Through these pilot constructions, valuable experiences, practices, and outcomes have been summarized, providing references for ongoing efforts in areas such as digital twin water networks, digital twin irrigation districts, digital twin water diversion projects, digital twin rural water supply, and integrated monitoring and perception systems. These insights will guide and lead the next steps in advancing digital twin water conservancy construction.
