Analysis of Urbanization of Rural Migrants'Household on the Age Effect of Consumption Inequality
Reducing the households'consumption inequality is one of the pillars to ensure the safe operation of the economy.A deep understanding of the age effect of consumption inequality has important economic significance for an aging society.Based on the China Family Panel Studies,this article calculated the age effect of rural-to-urban household's consumption gap;Besides,this study predicted the age effect assuming rural-to-urban households get urban household registration,propensity score matching method and regression model were employed.The results from this study indicate that the age effect of rural migrants'household consumption inequality shows a significant"smiling shape",and the consumption gap of middle-aged households is lower than that of young and old households;after urbanization,the age effect of household consumption inequality shows a quadratic downward trend with age before the age of 55,and then rises;and household consumption inequality has become more affected by age.
