Application of distinct element-boundary element coupling model in underground structure dynamic analysis
Employing the coupling model of distinct element-boundaryelement,the static and dynamic analysis of underground power plant of Xiluodu Project is conducted.Some problems in distinct element simulation of underground structure are discussed.The conclusion that the distinct element method can simulate the deformation of underground structures is drawn.The effects of radiation damping can also be modeled,if distinct elements can be coupled with boundary elements.The seismic responses of underground structures will be much smaller than that of structures on the ground surface,due to effects of radiation damping.
