Analysis of the influence of vegetation on the riverbank stability in the Lower Jingjiang Reach under water level change
To analyze the typical top clay-bottom sand bank slope of the Lower Jingjiang Reach(LJR),the veti-ver grass-tall fescue was selected as the protection type, regarding the root anchorage effect and transpiration of the vegetation.Using GeoStudio to imitate the strength and thermodynamic indicators of the bank, studying the influ-ence of the magnitude of water level decline, rate of water level decline and initial water level on bank stability by single factor analysis approach, and comparing the degree of influence of the three factors by grey relational analy-sis.The results show that:as the water level decline, the safety factor of bank slope first decreases rapidly and then tends to stable values;bank stability is most influenced by the rapid rate of water level decline, when the rate of water level decline is less than 1 m/d,the bare soil slope remains in a basic stable state;when it is greater than 3 m/d,the slope becomes instability.Vegetation can improve the bank stability, comparing the vegetated slope to the bare slope, its safety factor can be increased by 4.33%at most;the correlation between the safety factor of bank slope and the three factors decreases under vegetated condition, with a decrease of 3.73%at most. The re-sults clarified the effect of the vegetation on the bank stability of the LJR under water level change and provide a ref-erence for ecological bank protection projects.
