Effect of different levels of mushroom bran on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and economic benefit of finishing pigs
The experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of different levels of mushroom bran on the growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, and economic benefit of finishing pigs.A total of 200 healthy'Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire'three-way crossbred finishing pigs with similar body weight were randomly divided into four groups, with five replicates per group and 10 pigs per replicate.Pigs in the control group were fed a basal diet, and pigs in the experimental groups were fed the experimental diets containing 2.5%,5.0%,and 10.0%of mushroom bran, respectively. The experiment lasted for eight weeks. The results showed that compared with the control group, the average daily gain of finishing pigs in the 5.0%mushroom bran group significantly increased(P<0.05),and the feed to gain ratio significantly decreased(P<0.05).The apparent digestibility of dry matter of pigs in the 2.5%,5.0%mushroom bran groups significantly increased(P<0.05),the apparent digestibility of crude fiber of pigs in the 5.0%mushroom bran group significantly increased(P<0.05),and the apparent digestibility of crude protein of pigs in the 2.5%,5.0%,and 10.0%mushroom bran groups significantly increased(P<0.05).The weight gain income of the 2.5%,5.0%,and 10.0%mushroom bran groups increased by 21.60,43.20 and 21.28 yuan per pig, respectively, and the profit increased by 14.45%,25.29%,and 18.13%,respectively.The serum globulin level of finishing pigs in the 5.0%and 10.0%mushroom bran groups significantly increased(P<0.05),and the serum urea nitrogen, cholesterol and triglyceride levels significantly decreased(P<0.05).The study indicates that feeding an appropriate amount of mushroom bran can improve growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, breeding profit and some serum biochemical indexes of finishing pigs, and the appropriate amount of mushroom bran is 5.0%.
