In vitro antibacterial activity mechanism of Elaeagnus angustifolia L.leaves water extract
The purpose of this experiment was to determine the antibacterial activity of Elaeagnus angustifolia L.leaves water extract against pathogenic bacteria easily causing animal infection in vitro, and to reveal the antibacterial mechanism of Elaeagnus angustifolia L.leaves water extract. The antibacterial spectrum of Elaeagnus angustifolia L.leaves water extract was screened by a 96-well plate microdilution method. The growth curve of pathogenic bacteria was drawn, the activity of alkaline phosphatase and protein mass concentration were determined, and the inhibitory mechanism of Elaeagnus angustifolia L.leaves water extract against Staphylococcus aureus was comprehensively analyzed by transmission electron microscope. The results showed that the water extract of Elaeagnus angustifolia L.leaves had different inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus,Staphylococcus epidermidis,Enterococcus faecalis,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Escherichia coli,Enterobacter cloacae, and Candida albicans, which could destroy the permeability and integrity of cell wall and membrane of pathogenic bacteria and inhibit their growth and metabolism.Studies has shown that the Elaeagnus angustifolia L.leaves water extract can inhibit the growth and metabolism of common Staphylococcus aureus and other pathogenic bacteria, and has a strong antibacterial function.
