Effects of fermented feed on laying performance, immunity, and reproductive hormone levels of laying hens
The purpose of this experiment was to study the effects of different levels of fermented feed on the laying performance, immunity, and reproductive hormone levels of laying hens.Four thousand 60-week-old Hailan brown laying hens were randomly divided into four groups with 10 replicates in each group and 100 laying hens in each replicate.Laying hens in the control group were fed with basal diets, while those in the fermented feed group were fed with experimental diets containing 2.5%,5.0%and 7.5%fermented feed, respectively. The pre-test period was one week, and the formal test period was eight weeks. The results showed that the average egg weight and the average egg laying rate of laying hens fed with 5.0%and 7.5%fermented feed increased(P<0.05),while the feed to egg ratio decreased by 4.64%and 5.06%respectively(P>0.05).Feeding 5.0%and 7.5%fermented feed could significantly improve yolk color(P<0.05)and eggshell strength(P<0.05).Feeding 2.5%,5.0%and 7.5%fermented feed could significantly increase the levels of IL-2 and IFN-γ(P<0.05).Feeding 5.0%and 7.5%fermented diet could significantly increase the serum levels of IgM,IgG and IgM(P<0.05).Feeding 5.0%and 7.5%fermented diet could increase estradiol level(P<0.05),and feeding 2.5%,5.0%and 7.5%fermented diet could increase follicle stimulating hormone level(P<0.05).The study indicates that adding proper amount of fermented feed in Hailan brown laying hens can improve laying performance, egg quality, immunity, and promote the secretion of reproductive hormones.Considering comprehensively,it is more suitable to add 5.0%fermented feed in laying hens.
