Optimizing fermentation conditions for production of surfactin from Bacillus subtilis BYA-KC-4
The experiment aimed to optimize the fermentation conditions for the high-yielding surfactin-producing strain Bacillus subtilis BYA-KC-4 and to screen for the best conditions for surfactin production. The experiment determined the levels of factors affecting surfactin production through single-factor tests. The Box-Behnken central composite design was used to further optimize the fermentation condition parameters. The results showed that under the optimal fermentation conditions, namely a temperature of 33℃,an initial pH value of 6.8,an inoculum volume of 4.8%,and a rotation speed of 201 r/min,the yield of surfactin reached 560.25 mg/L.Compared with the 425.36 mg/L before optimization,it increased by 1.32 times. The study indicates that the experiment can provide a reference for surfactin production by Bacillus subtilis BYA-KC-4 and for industrial production.
