Research progress on application of concentrate to roughage ratio in ruminant diet
The concentrate to roughage ratio is the basis for scientific feeding practices of ruminants,which directly affects the nutritional intake,digestion and absorption,and health status of ruminants.A proper ratio of concentrate to roughage in the feed can stabilize the rumen environment,improve rumen fermentation,prevent acidosis,enhance meat and milk production,and increase the economic benefits of breeding.The article reviews the effects of different feed ratios on the growth,blood and other indicators of ruminant animals,to provide guidance on selecting appropriate feed ratios for ruminants.
