Evaluation of agronomic traits and nutritional value of 28 silage maize varieties in cold region
The study was to select suitable silage maize varieties for planting in the western region of Heilongjiang. The agronomic traits, biomass and nutritional quality of 28 varieties were comprehensively evaluated in this experiment by membership function method. The results showed that the highest plant height was Yu Silage 23,which was 340.10 cm.The highest ear position was Silage 5102,which was 161.60 cm.The highest hay yield was M115S with 25 724.23 kg/hm2.The crude protein, starch, acid detergent fiber and neutral detergent fiber contents of the 28 participating varieties ranged from 6.75%to 9.21%,17.90%to 27.99%,20.81%to 28.38%and 42.86%to 56.94%.Comprehensive analysis of 28 major agronomic traits, biological yield and nutritional quality of silage maize by the subordinate function method showed that Meng Silage 266,M114D,Bei Silage 1,Yu Silage 23,and Zhongdan Silage 29 were outstanding in the western Heilongjiang region, and were suitable for popularization of planting in this region and areas with similar climatic environments.
