Research progress on regulation of animal intestinal health by Clostridium butyricum
The gut microbiota is one of the most important components of homeostasis, and is closely related to the health of animals.Probiotics are often used to improve microbiota, regulate immunity, alleviate diseases, and maintain health.Clostridium butyricum is a butyric acid-producing Gram-positive anaerobic bacterium of the genus Clostridium in the family Bacillaceae that grows and reproduces rapidly. It has good bile salt tolerance, hydrophobicity and self-aggregation.Clostridium butyricum can effectively alleviate intestinal inflammation and enhance animal health by regulating intestinal immunity, improving intestinal barrier function, regulating intestinal microbiota structure and other mechanisms. In addition,Clostridium butyricum also has the potential to resist stress and improve animal production performance. The paper reviews the research progress of Clostridium butyricum in the regulation of animal intestinal health, including its physicochemical properties, mechanism of action, and application effects on intestinal functions. It aims to provide a reference for the in-depth research and practical application of Clostridium butyricum.
