Impact of environmental regulations on carbon emissions from livestock and poultry breeding industry
With the rapid development of livestock and poultry breeding industry, energy consumption and carbon emissions continue to increase, which has a certain impact on the sustainability of the ecological environment. This article aims to reveal the potential effects of environmental regulations on carbon reduction in the livestock and poultry industry, and help the industry achieve green and low-carbon development.Based on panel data from 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2022,this study constructs an econometric model to explore the impact of environmental regulations on carbon emissions from animal husbandry. The results show that the implementation of environmental regulatory policies can significantly reduce carbon emissions from livestock and poultry farming, and this result has a certain degree of robustness. The heterogeneity of test results show that high-intensity environmental regulations have a greater impact on carbon emissions from livestock and poultry farming than low-intensity environmental regulations. In the eastern and central regions, environmental regulations have a more significant impact on carbon emissions from livestock and poultry farming.Research has shown that accelerating the improvement of environmental regulations such as carbon emissions and carbon footprint management is of great significance for reducing carbon emissions from livestock and poultry farming and achieving the'dual carbon'goal as soon as possible.
