Research progress of effects of liquid feeding on growth and intestinal function of pigs
Liquid feed is prepared by mixing dry feed with water or liquid industrial by-products in a certain ratio, followed by fermentation or non-fermentation processes.Compared to dry feed feeding, liquid feeding has the advantages of improving the weaning stress of piglets, increasing the average daily weight gain and average daily feed intake, and reducing the feed-to-weight ratio, enhancing the enzyme activity of the gastrointestinal digestive system, reducing the number of pathogens in the intestine and increasing the abundance of beneficial bacteria, improving intestinal morphology and reducing intestinal permeability. The article reviews the classification of liquid feeding, the liquid feeding systems, the production and quality of fermented liquid feed, and the impact of liquid feeding on pig growth performance and intestinal function. It summarizes and looks forward to the existing problems of liquid feeding, with the aim of providing a reference for the application of liquid feed in the field of pig farming.
