Effects of acidifier addition in diets on growth performance, digestive organ index,pH value of digestive tract, and cecal microflora of broilers
The experiment was aimed to evaluate the effects of acidifier addition in diets on growth performance, digestive organ index,pH value of digestive tract, and cecal microflora of broilers.A total of 96 one-day-old AA broilers were randomly divided into two groups, with six replicates per group and eight broilers per replicate. The control group was fed with basal diet, while the acidifier group was added 330 g/t conic acid(containing enteric benzoic acid)to the basal diet. The experiment lasted for 42 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, the survival rate of broilers in the acidifier group significantly increased(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the relative abundance of Firmicutes,Bacteroidota and Euryarchaeota increased significantly in the acidifier group. The relative abundance of Verrucomicrobiota,Desulfobacterota and Campilobacterota had decreased significantly. The abundance of Enterobacteriaceae and Enterococcaceae in the acidifier group increased significantly. The abundance of Rikenellaceae,Barnesiellaceae,Tannerellaceae and Sutterellaceae decreased significantly. The study indicates that the addition of acidifier to the diet changes the species abundance of cecal microorganisms and regulates the flora of cecal microflora in broilers.
