Study of isolation and identification of a Streptococcus alactolyticus of bovine origin and its probiotic properties
The experiment aimed to screen for gut colonizing bacterial strains from different intestinal mucosal segments of the Ferhe F1cow(♂Fleckvieh×♀Holstein)and to study their probiotic properties. The experiment used 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis to identify the species of isolated strains and conducted in vitro probiotic function research on the isolated and identified lactic acid bacterial strains to comprehensively evaluate the characteristics of the isolated strains. The results showed that one lactic acid bacterial candidate strain was isolated from the different intestinal mucosal segments of the Ferhe F1cow identified by 16S rRNA sequencing,it was a Streptococcus alactolyticus, named F2.This strain had potential inhibitory effects on Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella. The strain has high hydrophobicity,auto-aggregation,acid tolerance, bile tolerance, and antibiotic sensitivity. The study indicates that lactic acid bacteria isolated from bovine origin of intestinal mucosa may have the potential to become probiotics.
