Evaluation of production performance of 10 forage oat varieties in saline areas along the Yellow River
The experiment aimed to screen for superior varieties of forage oats suitable for planting in saline-alkali soil areas along the Yellow River.A total of 10 forage oat varieties were used as materials, and a randomized block design was adopted to measure hay yield and nutritional quality during the heading stage, milk ripening stage, and dough ripening stage.A comprehensive evaluation was carried out using affiliation function analysis. The results showed that the yields of the 10 test oat varieties varied greatly in Tumed Left,Hohhot,in the milk ripening stage, the dry grass yield of Sweet Swallow 70 and Sun God was relatively high, and the dry grass yield of Sun God was the highest in the dough ripening stage, reaching 6 008.52 kg/hm2.In the heading stage, the crude protein content of Black Meck Rye was the highest,at 8.48%,while Sweet Swallow 70 had the highest content of soluble carbohydrates(6.88%),Souris has the lowest content of neutral detergent fiber(35.93%),and Belle had the lowest content of acid detergent fiber(26.33%).The study indicates that the quality of Souris is the best at milk ripening stage, and Sweet Swallow 70 is the second best.It is suitable to popularize the cultivation of Souris and Sweet Swallow 70 in Tumed Left,Hohhot.
