Research progress on impact of high stocking density on broilers health and regulatory measures
Stocking density is an important parameter in poultry farming management, which significantly affects the growth, development, health status, and productivity of broilers. In recent years, the development of intensive broiler farming has improved production efficiency but has also led to a series of health issues.Stress issues caused by high-density rearing have become a current research focus. This paper reviews recent domestic and international research on the effects of high-density rearing on broilers, with a particular emphasis on its impact on growth performance, intestinal health, immunity, and antioxidant capabilities. The paper also summarizes mitigation strategies to alleviate the adverse effects of high-density rearing on broilers. It also summarizes the regulatory measures to mitigate the adverse effects of high-density rearing, including optimizing the rearing environment, improving management practices, nutritional regulation, and the use of functional additives. This paper aims to provide scientific evidence and practical guidance for the health management and production efficiency of high-density broiler farming, thereby promoting the sustainable development of the broiler industry.
