Carbon footprint of animal husbandry from perspective of new quality productivity:Horizontal measurement, regional differences, and convergence analysis
The carbon footprint level measurement of animal husbandry can provide theoretical support and experience reference for the formulation of carbon emission reduction plan and the development of new quality productivity.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2012 to 2022,this paper uses the whole life cycle method,Theil index,α convergence and β convergence to examine the carbon footprint, regional differences and convergence of animal husbandry in the perspective of new quality productivity. The results showed that the carbon footprint of animal husbandry showed a decreasing trend from 2012 to 2022 in the perspective of new quality productivity. The carbon footprint of animal husbandry in each region of our country shows different evolution characteristics, but the overall is significantly reduced. From the perspective of new quality productivity, regional differences in animal husbandry carbon footprint are mainly caused by intra-regional differences, and the rapid reduction of the overall differences in the country is jointly promoted by the reduction of intra-regional differences in the east, central, northeast and west. From 2012 to 2022,the carbon footprint of animal husbandry in China, eastern, central, northeast and western regions showed α convergence, absolute β convergence and conditional β convergence. The study indicates that the carbon footprint of animal husbandry has a decreasing trend from the perspective of new quality productivity, and there are obvious regional differences and convergence characteristics.
