Study on Halogen-free Intumescent Flame Retardant Modified by Methylhydrosilicone Fluid on Surface
The polypropylene was flame retarded by halogen-free intumescent flame retardant modified by methylhydrosilicone fluid. The tensile strength, izod impact strength, limitation oxygen index, UL-94 rate, thermal gravity and the remaining rate against water were tested. Analysis of variance and multiple comparisons were used to treat test data. The effects of methylhydrosilicone fluid on the properties of the blend were studied. The results showed that the toughness of the blends is raised; the tensile strength is decreased with the increasing weight percent of the methylhydrosilicone fluid. The remaining rate against water is clearly improved.
