Properties of Halogen-free Flame Retardant Polyethylene Films
This paper studies the effect of a halogen-free flame retardant on the oxygen index(OI),tensile strength, fracture elongation and tear resistance of polyethylene(PE)films. With the increase of flame retardant dosage, the oxygen index of the films increases significantly, which effectively slows down the combustion rate and reduces the production of melting droplets and black smoke;but the film tensile strength, fracture elongation, tear resistance and other mechanical properties will decrease. The favorable dosage of the halogen-free flame retardant should be up to 20%~25%if calculated at 100%of total parts.
