Translation role of circRNA and digestive system tumors
Circular RNA(circRNA)is a new single-stranded RNA,which can affect the occurrence and development of various diseases through various mechanisms.Due to the absence of 5′-and 3′-terminals,circRNA was previously considered to have no translational function. However, with the development of sequencing technology and proteomics in recent years,a large number of studies have shown that circRNA can synthesize proteins through″uncap-dependent translation″,and the products can participate in the evolution of multisystem tumors. This review describes the main translation mechanisms of circRNA,including IRES,m6A and rolling circle amplification. This review presents the common tools that can predict the translation function of circRNA.The relationship between circRNA encoding products and gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer and other digestive tract tumors was introduced. The aim is to provide new ideas for the study of digestive system tumors.
