Research progress on vitamin D-mediated regulation of tumor microenvironment
Tumor microenvironment(TME)plays an important role in cancer initiation, metastasis and drug resistance.Elucidating the regulatory mechanism of TME can provide valuable insights for tumor therapy.Vitamin D,as a metabolic substance,is widely distributed in the cellular microenvironment, and can inhibit tumors by regulating the components of TME.This paper summarizes the metabolism and action mechanism of vitamin D,reviews the latest research progress on how vitamin D regulates tumor cells,tumor-associated fibroblasts, immune cells, inflammatory factors and angiogenesis in TME,which will provide a foundation for promoting the basic and clinical research on vitamin D and its analogues in tumor treatment.
