Research progress of exosomes in colorectal cancer liver metastases
The liver is the most common site of metastasis in patients with colorectal cancer. The occurrence and progression of liver metastases can lead to significantly shorter survival of colorectal cancer patients. The overall effect of current treatment strategies is poor, searching for more effective diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers and targets for treatment is an important task.Exosomes play an important role in colorectal cancer liver metastasis, mediating the development of chemoresistance, and also have value as biomarkers in the diagnosis and prognosis of colorectal cancer liver metastasis.Exosome research provides a molecular basis for targeted therapies in colorectal cancer. This paper reviews the progress of research on exosomes in influencing colorectal cancer liver metastasis, promoting therapeutic resistance, and providing diagnostic and prognostic value for colorectal cancer liver metastasis.
