The relevance of glycans to medicine has been emphasized by the elucidation of the mechanism of glycans in physiology and pathology.The changes in the structure of glycans are often directly related to diseases.As an important basic course for biology-related majors,the teaching content of Biochemistry should also introduce new research achievements.At present,there is no relevant knowledge of ″glycans and medicine″in the textbooks of Biochemistry.This paper explores the introduction of″glycans and medicine″in Biochemistry teaching,and specifically elaborates on the introduction of abnormal glycans in tumors and other diseases,as well as the application of glycans in disease treatment and diagnosis.The introduction of″glycans and medicine″is in line with the teaching concept of″preclinical medicine and clinical medicine″,which could increase students'understanding of the frontiers of scientific research and enhance their scientific literacy and core competitiveness.
