A teaching example of the relationship between protein structure and function—discovery and development of green fluorescent protein
Protein is the material basis of life and participates in almost every process of life activity.Protein functions are also diverse, such as biocatalysis, metabolic regulation, immune protection, transport and storage, all of which are closely related to protein structure. Therefore,″Protein Structure and Function″is an important chapter in the course of biochemistry. At the same time,it involves the intersection of multiple disciplines such as biology, chemistry, and molecular biology, with characteristics such as theoretical abstraction and complex knowledge points. This paper takes″discovery and development of green fluorescent protein″as an example to discuss the specific design and practice of teaching the relationship between protein structure and function, hoping to make the course education of″protein structure and function″more concise and understandable, and improve students'attention to the classroom content,in order to provide reference for the reform of biochemistry teaching.
