Diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM)is a cardiomyopathy caused by long-term diabetes mellitus, independent of hypertension and coronary artery disease. It is a common clinical complication of diabetes mellitus that can produce arrhythmias and heart failure and lead to death in severe cases.DCM is characterized by extensive focal myocardial cell death based on metabolic disturbances and microangiopathy.Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent programmed cell death induced by excessive oxidative stress, abnormal iron and lipid metabolism.Abnormal glucolipid metabolic disorders accompanied with oxidative stress lead to Ferroptosis in cardiomyocytes of DCM.This review focuses on the relationship between Ferroptosis and DCM.The possible molecular mechanisms are also discussed.
