Research progress on the mechanism of curcumin in prevention and treatment of kidney diseases
Curcumin is a natural ketone compound extracted from plants,has anti-inflammatory,antioxidant and anticancer effects.Due to its advantages of few side effects and wide range of targets,it plays a protective role in a variety of kidney diseases such as nephritis,acute/chronic kidney injury and renal fibrosis,and has the effect of improve kidney damage caused by drugs or toxic substances,alleviating the damage of chemotherapy drugs to the kidney and synergistic chemoradiotherapy to play the role of anti-renal tumor.In recent years,it has become the focus of research on the treatment of kidney diseases.However,its potential mechanism of action,therapeutic effect and subsequent clinical application still need to be further summarized and explored.From the perspective of pathophysiology,this paper systematically reviewed the role and potential mechanism of curcumin in various renal diseases,providing clues and basis for subsequent research and clinical application.
