Research progress on caloric restriction mediating the regulation of cardiovascular diseases by the SIRT family
Cardiovascular disease is the disease with the highest mortality rate in the world. Both short-term and long-term caloric restriction(CR)can reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease. The SIRT family is involved in various intracellular metabolisms and plays a key role in reducing cardiac inflammation, oxidative stress and regulating mitochondrial function. This article reviews the role and mechanism of the SIRT family in the improvement of various cardiovascular diseases by CR,and outlines the improvement effect of caloric restriction mimetics on cardiovascular diseases through the SIRT pathway, providing a reference for the early prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases.
