Trained immunity induced by gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis is the major cause of death and disability worldwide. It is closely related to metabolism disorders, inflammation and immunity.Atherosclerosis caused by dysregulation of the gut microbial is associated with dysregulation of lipid metabolism and glucose metabolism and elevated levels of circulating lipopolysaccharide and trimethylamine N-oxide.Trained immunity is a potential mechanism that drives chronic inflammation in atherosclerosis. Therefore, this article reviews the possible mechanisms by which gut microbial dysregulation induces trained immunity to promote atherosclerosis progression, and discusses its possible therapeutic measures.
