Reconsideration concerning the role of Porphyromonas gingivalis in oral squamous cell carcinoma:a narrative review
Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)has significantly contributed to the global cancer burden.Based on an increasing number of evidence, oral bacteria play an important role in the occurrence and development of OSCC.As a key pathogen of chronic periodontitis,Porphyromonas gingivalis's carcinogenic implications have been widely proven. It is imperative to understand the pathogenic basis of P.gingivalis in OSCC.In the review,we collect and evaluate the scientific shreds of proof on the involvement of P.gingivalis in the molecular mechanism of OSCC in order to reconsider its biological performance and effect.
