The research progress of lncRNA in inflammatory bowel disease and phytochemical intervention
Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD)are chronic, relapsing disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, which are represented mainly by ulcerative colitis(UC)and Crohn's disease(CD).Studies have shown that epigenetic factors represented by long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)play an important role in the pathogenesis of IBD.Phytochemicals are non-traditional nutrient components isolated and extracted from natural plants, characterized by easy availability and low toxicity. Some phytochemicals have been identified to have a protective role in IBD.In this paper,we systematically discuss the pathogenesis of IBD and the progress of research on the role of lncRNA in the regulation of IBD,and explore the possible mechanisms of phytochemicals inhibiting IBD,and thus providing theoretical basis for phytochemicals in the improvement of IBD by targeting lncRNA.
