ClinicalValue of NPUAP Combined with Ultrasound in Early Identification of Patients with Pressure Injury
Objective:To explore the feasibility and application value of NPUAP combined with ultrasound in early i-dentification of patients with pressure injury. Methods:From February 2022 to March 2023,58 patients with stress injury admitted to the Second People's Hospital of Huaihua City were selected as the research objects. Therefore, the patients were in the high-risk area at the time of admission(T0)and two weeks after admission(T2),and the depth and range of pressure injuries were evaluated by traditional methods of visual inspection, inquiry and palpa-tion,and NPUAP classification was carried out. After ultrasound examination,58 patients were re-evaluated with NPUAP classification, and the accuracy of pressure injury identification before and after ultrasound examination was compared, and early intervention measures were taken to evaluate the prognosis of patients. Results:A total of 69 pressure injuries in high-risk areas were identified by NPUAP combined with ultrasound, including 15 in stage 1 and 13 in stage 2,36 in deep tissue injuries(including 15 in suspected pressure injuries),5 in non-staging areas and 2 in incontinence dermatitis.Eleven abnormal ultrasonic signs of skin(no abnormal appearance)in high-risk areas were detected.Traditional assessment methods identified 51 stress injuries, including 21 in stage 1,10 in stage 2,10 in deep tissue injury,5 in non-staging,and 5 in incontinence dermatitis.Effective intervention measures were taken as early as possible and re-evaluated two weeks later. All 15 sites were cured in the first stage,8 sites were healed in the second stage, and 4 sites were improved.Of the 36 deep tissue injuries,15 sites were healed,17 sites were unchanged but the scope was reduced,2 sites progressed to the third stage,3 sites progressed to the fourth stage, and 5 sites that could not be staged were debrided in the third stage and 3 sites in the fourth stage.Conclu-sion:The application of NPUAP combined with ultrasound technology in high-risk areas can effectively judge the pressure injury at an early stage and determine the depth of the injury, which can provide guidance for clinical inter-vention and continuously improve the nursing quality of the pressure injury.
