MagneticResonance Brain Gray Matter Volume Differences in Patients with Refractory And Non-refractory Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy
Objective:To explore and analyze the difference of gray matter volume in patients with refractory and re-fractory idiopathic generalized epilepsy examined by magnetic resonance imaging. Methods:A total of 105 epileptic patients admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected, all of whom received routine sequence examination and high-resolution 3D-T1WI structural images, and the differences of gray matter volume displayed by the two examination methods were compared. Results:In the left superior temporal gyrus and the right inferior frontal gyrus, patients with intractable epilepsy showed smaller gray matter volume. In bilateral cerebellar lobes, the volume of gray matter is relatively large. There was significant difference in gray matter volume between patients with intractable epilepsy and those without intractable epilepsy(P<0.05).Conclusion:There are some differences in brain structure between patients with refractory and non-refractory idiopathic generalized epilepsy, and the brain gray matter damage is significant, which may be the key pathological feature of refractory idiopathic generalized epilepsy and should be paid attention to and further studied.
