2021-2022 Study on Clinical And Laboratory Characteristics of Adult EB Virus Infection in Qinhuangdao City
Objective:To analyze the clinical manifestations of Epstein-Barr virus(EB)positive adult patients by EB-associated antigen,EB virus DNA,routine hematological examination and blood biochemical test, and to explore the clinical features of EB virus in adult infected patients. Methods:The clinical data and laboratory examination data of 214 adult patients with EB virus infection received by the respiratory department of our hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were collected, and the patients aged 20~59 were classified into young and middle-aged group(87 cases)and patients over 60 were classified into elderly group(127 cases).50 health check-ups were col-lected and divided into two age control groups according to the above-mentioned age grouping method,31 cases in young and middle-aged group and 17 cases in elderly group. To study the clinical manifestations of EB virus in a-dult infected patients and compare the differences and commonness between patients of different ages.Results:A-mong 214 patients with EB virus infection, the highest symptom was high fever(93 patients, accounting for 43.5%),followed by lymphadenopathy(54 patients, accounting for 25.2%),fatigue(30 patients, accounting for 14.1%)and rash(16 patients, accounting for 7.5%).There was no significant difference in laboratory indexes between the two groups of patients with EB virus infection at different ages, except ALT、AST、GGT、ALP、TBLL、DBLL and IBLL.The white blood cell count, neutrophil count, monocyte count and platelet count in the young and middle-aged group were higher than those in the old group,P<0.05.In the comparison of the elderly group, there was no statistical significance between the two groups except for the absolute number of CD8+T lymphocytes. In the comparison of other indexes, the indexes of the elderly group infected by EB virus were generally lower than those of healthy people of the same age,and the differences were statistically significant,P<0.05.In the comparison be-tween young and middle-aged groups, there was a significant statistical difference in the absolute number of NK cells between the two groups,P<0.05,and other results were compared,P>0.05;Comparison of antigen, antibody and EB virus DNA between young group and old group,P>0.05.Conclusion:Adults infected with EB virus have different clinical symptoms, among which young and middle-aged people are more likely to have obvious manifes-tations of memory infection than the elderly. At the same time, the cellular and humoral immune responses of the elderly population are usually impaired and reduced, and the proportion of tumors related to EB virus is high in this age group.
