Evaluation of the Therapeutic Effect of Sputum Expectorators in Elderly Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective:To observe and evaluate the therapeutic effect of expectoration instrument on elderly COPD patients. Methods:From January 2019 to December 2020,70 elderly COPD inpatients admitted to the geriatric de-partment of Nanjing Tongren Hospital were randomly divided into two groups,35 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with routine treatment. On this basis, the control group was given artificial tapping on the back to ex-pel phlegm, and the observation group was given expectoration instrument. The clinical symptoms, quality of life and improvement of lung function were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the amount of sputum in the observation group was less than that in the control group、and the scores of sputum viscosity、cough frequency and dyspnea were lower than those in the control group,P<0.05.The quality of life score in the observa-tion group was lower than that in the control group、while FEV1、FEV1%pred、FEV1/FVC and PEF were higher than those in the control group,P<0.05.Conclusion:Sputum expectoration instrument has a significant effect on elderly COPD patients, which is helpful to relieve the symptoms and signs of patients, improve the quality of life and improve the lung function of patients.
