Analysis of Related Factors And EEG Characteristics of Epileptic Electrical Status During Sleep in Children with Epilepsy with Central Temporal Spasm
Objective:To analyze the related factors of epileptic electrical status during sleep(ESES)in children with self-limited epilepsy(BECTS)with spikes in the central temporal region, and to explore the EEG characteristics. Methods:Eighty children with BECTS who were admitted to the Department of Neurology,Changzhou First People's Hospital from September 2022 to March 2024 were examined by electroencephalography(EEG)during the attack period.According to whether there was ESES in the course of the disease, they were divided into two groups:group with ESES(n=37)and group without ESES(n=43),and univariate and multivariate analysis were conducted.Re-sults:In the group with ESES、the recurrence of epilepsy、the number of seizures>2 times/year、the types of drugs、bilateral discharge and the high central area of discharge were higher than those in the group without ESES,P<0.05.Logistic analysis showed that the recurrence of epilepsy after treatment, the number of seizures>2 times/year,the types of drugs and bilateral discharge were the high risk factors for ESES in children with BECTS(P<0.05).Conclusion:ESES in children with BECTS has some EEG characteristics. In addition, its high-risk factors are closely related to the recurrence of epilepsy after treatment、the number of seizures、the types of drugs,etc.Clini-cally,targeted intervention measures should be taken to reduce seizures.
