CBCT Study of Supernumerary Teeth in the Anterior Maxillary Region
Objective:To study cone-beam CT(CBCT)of supernumerary teeth in maxillary anterior teeth.Meth-ods:The basic data of 80 patients diagnosed and treated in the Department of Stomatology of Suzhou Hospital affili-ated to Nanjing Medical University from January 2022 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, and the sex、age、eruption state and shape of supernumerary teeth were statistically analyzed. Results:There were 110 supernu-merary teeth in 80 patients, all of whom were children and adolescents. The average age of the patients was(8.22±1.27)years,and the ratio of male to female was 11:5.Among the 80 patients with supernumerary teeth, there were 15 cases(18.75%)in deciduous dentition,49 cases(61.25%)in mixed dentition and 16 cases(20.00%)in perma-nent dentition. The shapes of supernumerary teeth include 2(1.82%)fully developed(similar to normal anterior teeth),6(5.45%)nodular teeth,97(88.18%)conical teeth and 5(4.55%)bud teeth. The eruption of supernu-merary teeth included 14 teeth(12.73%),6 soft tissue impacted(5.45%)and 90 bone impacted(81.82%).The shape and eruption state of supernumerary teeth in patients of different sexes were significantly different(P<0.05).Conclusion:supernumerary teeth in maxillary anterior teeth mainly occur in children and adolescents, and the incidence rate of women is lower than that of men.The shape of supernumerary teeth is more conical, and the pa-tients with supernumerary teeth eruption are more impacted by bone tissue.
