Analysis of structure and evolution of White Dwarf star by statistical thermodynamics
The structure of the White Dwarf is analyzed using the theory of statistical thermodynamics. The ideal gas equation of state in the outer layer of the White Dwarf is derived from the Boltzmann distribution of classical statistics, and the equation of state in the case of complete degeneracy of the electron gas in the core of the White Dwarf is derived from the Fermi distribution of quantum statistics, including the relativity and non-relativity cases. The Chandrasekhar limit of spherically symmetric white dwarfs is obtained by means of the hydrostatic equilibrium of the internal structure of the star.
