With the acceleration of urbanization,the migration and mobility between urban and rural areas in Chinese mainland have become increasingly frequent,making the issue of urban migrants a focal point of attention in film and television media.As one of the important sub-genres of urban films,films about urban migrants reveal and contemplate the living conditions and tragic destinies of the underclass migrant groups.They address issues such as desires,spiritual collapse,identity anxiety and cultural identification,and the silence and compromise of women faced by urban migrants,reflecting the filmmakers'compassion for this underprivileged group.Urban migrants,as a vulnerable underclass,aspire to become part of the city but can hardly integrate.Urban migrant films respond to the complex relationships between urban migrants and urban and rural areas through the medium of film.
